HOUSTON, TEXAS.

23:40

Hey y'all! After catching 3 planes to Houston, Texas, I finally made it to Houston for TTX. Just to sum up the 3 days of camp, I've meet amazing people from all over the US. Learnt weird slang from the people of Socal and Texas, also taught them some of our slang like "maccas" which they had no idea what it was, which is short for McDonalds btw. Overall, the camp was fun! Meet amazing people, did things i would never do back at home at Oz like go shooting and blow up fireworks. I got to shot rifle which was pretty cool. I don't remember much but i'll put photos from camp!

After camp, we got to stay at a leader's house which was huge!!! The first night, we had a typical Texan dinner which was basically meat, meat and more meat! Then we headed over to another leader's house for a post-camp party. Man... it was a party. Those typical American frat parties i see in the movies which the red cups, booze, crowded rooms, massive house and food was just chips and dips.. The party was exactly like that! Since it was the 3rd of July, when it was 12am, people were outside on the drive way blowing up fireworks like it was nothing! I mean, I've watched fireworks close up (like 10 meters away) but this was literally across the road. One of the fireworks blew up like a bomb! Anyways, I can now say that I've been to a true American party.

It was finally Independence Day! My first 4th of July ever! First things first, what did we do was shopping!!! Duh! Went to an outlet and I must say.. i did not want to leave. Everything is hella cheap! Bought Nike Air Maxes for $60! Back at home would of been $120-180? Not sure but over 100. Then heading back home, we bought some fireworks since it is allowed over there like its nothing. Since we were from overseas, we got a good deal. Bought $26 worth of fireworks and got another $26 worth but for free! Got back to the house, the leader's kids and families were so cute and very patriotic.
